Respected Indigenous artist Jarinyanu David Downs’s work will be on display at Sydney’s newly revamped harbourfront dining precinct, the Campbell’s Stores, at The Rocks. Downs grew up in the deserts of Western Australia before working as a drover in the Northern Territory.

His works combine his Christian religious beliefs with the stories passed down to him by his elders. The exhibition will focus on these tensions, with 23 works spread between two parts. The first set of works depicts Downs’s ancestral countrymen; the second set shows Old Testament themes in his ancestral homelands.

Thu 31st October, 2019 – Thu 7th November, 2019 from 10am to 4pm.
A launch event will be held on October 31, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm.
